12.09.01 – (LAA) – MS Sen Kit Bond Succesfully Attached an Amendment Mandating third-party arbitration to Determine Seniority Integration Issues

Today is Sunday, December 9. This is George Price, Info Rep Coordinator, with an important APFA Hotline Update.

Late Friday night, Missouri Senator Kit Bond successfully attached an amendment mandating third-party arbitration to determine the seniority integration issues stemming from American Airlines’ purchase of TWA, to a Defense Appropriations Bill which was approved by the Senate. Because the bill now differs from the original House Bill– some 50 Senate amendments in addition to Bond’s were added to the Appropriations Bill– it will now go to Conference.

APFA, together with our Legislative Representative in Washington and the Allied Pilots Association, is formulating an appropriate response to this rapidly developing situation, and we will undoubtedly be calling on you in the next couple of days to stop this unwarranted attack against our seniority. Please call this Hotline and visit the website frequently as additional information will be provided as soon it becomes available.

Thank you for calling. Please stay on the line.
