3.17.06 – (LAA) – Pension Reform Bill

Today is Wednesday, March 22nd and this is Leslie Mayo, National Communications Coordinator, with an update for the APFA Hotline. Congress is in recess this week and will reconvene on Monday, March 27th. At that time we anticipate pension reform legislation to be addressed on the Hill. This is an issue we’ve been focused on since January of last year. One final push is needed to ensure the passage of this important legislation, so we are asking for your help.

Please go to the APFA website at Click on the link entitled “Contact Congress Today” at the top of the main page. Once there, click on the red link to the right entitled “Click Here to Contact Congress On Including the Airline Provision In the Final Pension Bill – 3.16.06.” This provides an avenue for you to contact your Congressional Representatives from both the House and Senate with a pre-written note urging them to keep the airline provision, IN ITS ENTIRETY, in the final pension bill. More detailed information can be found on the March 17th. Please act today – the future of our monthly pension benefits depends on your action!
