Pension Reform Update

HR 2830, the Pension Protection Act, passed the House of Representatives Thursday, December 15, 2005 with a vote of 294-132.

We succeeded in picking up a number of Democrat votes, even though the Democratic leadership was opposing this bill. APFA’s legislative team has been on the phones much of this week contacting offices and seeking support.

We thank each and every flight attendant who sent letters and faxes and phoned their Congressperson’s offices. By joining with the other unions on American’s property and with AA, we succeeded in getting this very important piece of legislation passed.
