To all NYC Base Flight Attendants:

When the company noticed us almost a year ago that the cost of courtesy transportation in NY had skyrocketed beyond the million dollar mark, we prepared ourselves for a long and arduous battle to try to preserve this benefit for the NY base. Initially, the company headed towards eliminating courtesy transportation which we were vehemently opposed to. Several meetings and many months later we were at a stalemate. The company advised us that they would be initiating changes as of April 15th.

As is our right under the APFA collective bargaining agreement, we filed base Notices of Dispute on behalf of both the LGA and the JFK bases. On May 23rd, 2006, we met with NYC Base Manager Howard Fried and North East Regional Manager John Tiliacos, in an attempt to reach an agreement.

We are pleased to announce that a Pre-Dispute Resolution settlement agreement has been reached with American Airlines.

With the new settlement agreement, American Airlines has agreed to 12 daily vans. We believe that with 12 daily vans, transportation will be covered during the most needful times and those times will be adjusted as necessary as schedule changes occur. Additionally in order to provide safe transportation for reserve Flight Attendants who are called out after 2am with a sign in before 0630, we have negotiated reimbursement for transportation cost for any flight attendant regardless of location up to $100.00 with a proper receipt to any of the three NY area airports. It is our hope that this will lessen the financial impact on our reserve flight attendants while at the same time curtailing the amount of short call outs by crew scheduling. Our goal is and always will be to ensure the safety and well being of our NY based flight attendants.

Reimbursement Procedures for Short Call Out Reserves

If you are called out on reserve after 0200 for a sign in before 0630 at any of the three area airports, you may now be reimbursed for up to $100.00 with receipt. If you are requesting re-imbursement for $50.00 or less, you may do so through the MOD office at JFK and LGA or Joe Parrino at EWR and will receive reimbursement on the spot.

All re-imbursements over $50.00 must be submitted on an expense report which is available from the local MOD office. You will submit the completed expense report, with your receipt to your FSM who will process the approval. The reimbursement will appear on the end of the month paycheck.

Off Schedule Operations

If your flight is delayed and is now scheduled to arrive after the last scheduled limo has departed, you are entitled to a limo to the city. When you become aware that your flight is delayed, please contact the Hotel/Limo desk to arrange for a limo.
