5.07.07 – (LAA) – Recall Notices Being Mailed
Today is Monday, May 7, 2007. This is Tommie Hutto-Blake, APFA president, with a Hotline update.
APFA is pleased to announce that recall notices will be mailed today to the 200 most senior Flight Attendants on our furlough recall list effective July 24, 2007. Accept or Reject Re-employment letters have been sent today and must be postmarked using the FED Ex envelope included with your recall notice no later than May 17, 2007.
This recall will reach employee number 626859 and include original AA Flight Attendants and original TWA FAs who were furloughed in July ’03. These Flight Attendants will be offered a choice of three bases in seniority order including BOS, DCA and LGA. Four 3-week training classes will be held beginning Monday, June 4, 2007, and each Monday in June thereafter. Information will be available on APFAís Web site in the furlough section beginning today. It will be updated throughout this process to ensure our recalled Flight Attendants have the information they need to return to work.
This recall is the fourth since 2003 and we welcome these 200 APFA members back to the line. APFA is hopeful that this recall will provide some relief for our active members in the field, albeit small. We will continue to work toward more recalls for our remaining 2,122 members still waiting to return to work.
We know you will have many questions re: this furlough. AA will have a process in place for all furloughed members to forward their questions and concerns. This information will be published on our Web site as soon as possible.
Please stay on the line for the rest of the APFA Hotline.
