5.16.07 – (LAA) – APFA Submits Request for Investigation by the SEC Concerning Actions of AMR Coporate Officials

Late this afternoon, APFA submitted a Request for Investigation by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) to the Division of Enforcement concerning certain actions of AMR corporate officials.
The letter, addressed to SEC Director Linda Chapman Thomsen, requests a focus by the SEC on ìthe common stock price and volume of common stock traded in relationship to the April 18, 2007, award of common shares as part of the Performance Share Plan (PSP).” The letter states that ìAPFA does not know whether there has been a violation of any kind.” It goes on to say, “However, the data described [in the letter] raises concerns. “
