InfoReps-
Yesterday, September 10, we met with the company to exchange openers setting into motion the official bargaining process.
Attached are three documents; President Laura GladingÃs opening letter, APFAÃs openers and the companyÃs openers. These documents will be referenced in the regular Hotline and available on the www.www.apfa.org website tomorrow. A press release will also go out later this afternoon and posted on the website site shortly after.
After reading opening remarks from the Union and the company and the exchange of opener documents, there were no detailed discussions other than the setting of future meetings.
For those not familiar with the process, this is not unusual for the first meeting. The opening documents do not normally contain detailed information. These documents merely let the other side know which articles of the collective bargaining agreement they intend to initially open with and modify during negotiations. Each party reserves the right to amend the openers at anytime during negotiations. The teams will be meeting again next week and we will continue to update you on a regular basis as negotiations proceed. Please continue to encourage the membership to regularly visit www.www.apfa.org for updated information.
The follow-up negotiations survey will remain available through September 30. Please remind everyone to take the survey by clicking the link sent to them via e-mail from the communications department. If for any reason they did not receive the survey e-mail, ask them to first check their spam folder and then log on to www.www.apfa.org and click the ësurveyà link on the main page for instructions.
