InfoRep Hotline 04OCT08
In previous InfoRep Hotlines we have announced the mobilization of InfoReps for an informational leafleting event this Friday, October 10 with its focus being a message to our passengers.
The Washington Post will announce our event in their Sunday edition travel section tomorrow morning, We want to ensure you are provided the details of the campaign should you have or receive any questions.
As we outlined during the Road Shows in July, we will begin on a somewhat smaller scale and should negotiations drag on without an agreement, the mobilization efforts will intensify. Also iterated during the Road Shows was that the need for public support is essential during any negotiations.
In collaboration with our PR firm, the theme for this campaign will be PAXforPAX. PAX as you know is our abbreviation for passenger(s). PAX is also Latin for ‘peace’. PAXforPAX ñ Peace for Passengers. Our message will be simple. We know how difficult traveling as a passenger has become. We see it every day. We continually have to say ‘I’m sorry, we don’t have _____." – fill in the blank. The Flight Attendants are not the bad guys. We have all sacrificed. Flight Attendants have lost vacation, sick time and our salaries have been greatly reduced since 2003. The list goes on and on. Meanwhile, AA execs continually rewarded themselves with millions of dollars.
This Friday, InfoReps will be distributing inflatable travel pillows along with an informational flyer to passengers at DFW, LAX, LGA and MIA. Our message being ñ ‘We hope this pillow brings you some peace during your flight. Please show your support as we seek economic peace with a new contract.’ They will be directed to a website for more information.
There will be more events to come. Please continue to read the Hotlines and visit www.apfa.org often. If you haven’t already, please view the Negotiations Road Show and Q&A videos on the www.www.apfa.org website.
Thank you for being a part of the InfoRep program.
