InfoRep Hotline – 10OCT08
The scheduling subcommittees were slated to meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. While the company was unable to make our Wednesday meeting, discussions did continue on Tuesday and Thursday. Talks were concentrated on Article 10, Reserve.
In an effort to create some momentum, the Negotiating Teams met and tentatively agreed on four articles that neither party opened with. These Articles are 15 – Period of Probation, Article 17 – Transfer to Non-Flying or Supervisory Duties, Article 28 – Dispute Resolution and Grievance Procedures and Article 29 – System Board of Adjustment. As pleased as we are that we have been able to reach agreement on some items we are equally disappointed that the Retail Sales/ Compensation subcommittee hasn’t made progress. It is APFA’s firm position that AA cannot unilaterally implement this program as it is a subject to be negotiated.
American Airlines announced this week it is working with Aircell to implement a filter for pornographic content over the Gogo in-flight Internet service. APFA feels this is a wise move for many reasons.
