Throughout this past week APFA continued to press the company for sequence pay protection for those Flight Attendants affected by the disruptions caused by the Icelandic volcano. We remain convinced that sequence pay protection is the only fair resolution. Nevertheless, the Company insists the most it can do in this situation is to allow Flight Attendants to "buy" back the time they lost by using PVDs.
Flight Attendants who lost time because of the volcanic eruptions and who exhausted the provisions of Article 9.P (Misconnection, Illegality and Cancellation) and are seeking a form of pay protection should contact their Service Managers and request PVDs. This protection is also being offered to those Flight Attendants who did not qualify for 9.P because their projection was too high, and/or the lost time involved an OE as well as those who were unable to recoup the time lost through HVBL days.
