Welcome to the InfoRep Hotline. This is Dane Townsend-Pepper Interim InfoRep Steering Committee member.
On Tuesday the TSA announced that flight attendants would join pilots in being exempt from AIT scanners. This exemption will only apply to crewmembers in uniform. Agency spokesman Nicholas Kimball stated, ìFlight Attendants, like pilots, are a known and trusted groupî.†The APFA and other Flight Attendant groups worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure this action was enacted.
Crewmembers will now be required to show photo identification and pass through a metal detector. If the crewmember sets off the metal detector they will be subjected to a pat down as a secondary screening measure. Please note that it is up to each individual airport to enforce the new exemption, however APFA does not anticipate any push back. If you are required to pass through the AIT machine and are not allowed the exemption please send a report to the APFA Safety and Security Department at [email protected].
The busiest travel day of the year began with AAÃs stock jumping 4.6% at the start of trading. Here AA let me hand you a tissue so you can wipe up those tears from crying poor. It looks like you wonÃt be able to use that excuse for stalling on our contract anymore.
As a result of DeltaÃs deplorable union busting techniques employed in the recent representational election, AFA has asked the NMB to investigate.
We wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving.
