11.8.12 – (LAA) – US National Election Results
A Message from APFA’s National Officers 11.8.12
Tuesday’s election results were, for the most part, very encouraging. Not only did the APFA-endorsed President and Vice President win, but many of our friends and supporters running for Senate and the House of Representatives prevailed as well.
We would like to offer our congratulations to President Obama and Vice President Biden, as well as Senator McCaskill of Missouri, Senator-elect Hirono of Hawaii and Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz of Florida, to name a few. These are among the most vocal advocates flight attendants have in Washington.
Our thanks and congratulations also go to the hundreds of APFA members who volunteered on various campaigns across the country as well as to the thousands more who braved long lines to cast their ballots. You should all be very proud of your efforts.
Also, our thanks goes to Julie Frederick, APFA Legislative Affairs, for preparing a list of each of the candidates APFA supported by endorsement and through campaign contributions from APFA Political Action Committee (PAC). We can say proudly that we supported many winners in this election cycle. We look forward to working with them in the coming Congress as we continue to advance the interests of our Flight Attendant profession.
In Unity,
Laura Glading, President
Marcus Gluth, VP
Jeff Pharr, Secretary
Greg Gunter, Treasurer
