FACT Rep Update – October 11, 2013

 

Hello FACT Reps,
Next week, your APFA Leadership will be meeting in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for its Annual Board Training on the 15^th, followed by our regularly scheduled Fall Board Meeting October 16-17. The training will focus on pensions. Members in good standing are welcome to attend all open portions of the board meeting, which will be held at the Embassy Suites in downtown Fort Worth beginning at 9am on Wednesday the 16^th.
 
FACT: This past week members of your new APFA Negotiating Team had several productive meetings with the company. The topic of discussion was the CLA (Conditional Labor Agreement) implementation that pertains to “Line Pay – Guarantee Protection.” The Negotiating Team will be updating the APFA Board of Directors on the discussions with the company. APFA feels strongly that an agreement will be reached early next week.

November 1, 2013 will be the implementation date for Line Pay Guarantee Protection. Stay tuned to the APFA Hotline and this FACT Hotline for more information.
 
FACT: New Hires continue to graduate and report for duty. To date over 1,000 new hire flight attendants have joined our ranks reporting directly to over 2/3 of our bases across the system. Please remember to welcome and assist them. They are excited and appreciate all the support they can get!
 
FACT: 30/7 for domestic flight attendants was implemented on August 1, 2013. Under the CLA, APFA was able to secure the return of this very important work rule. Remember do NOT waive your 30/7 if you do not want to fly more than 30 hours in 7 days. If you wish to waive your 30/7, simply log into DECS and enter HI30/month/S. Once you waive your 30/7, it will be waived for the remainder of the contractual month.
 
FACT: OE trips are not paid unless you actually fly the trip. SK, VC, PVD will not pay an OE trip on your schedule.

FACT: The next seniority shuffle will take place on or around October 12^th. This shuffle includes flight attendant attrition through September 1^st. Attrition up to October 1st will be reflected in the NOV shuffle, which will occur around the 12^th of November.  Some of the end of September VEOPs (Voluntary Early Out Programs) held carry-over trips so the final result of all VEOPS won’t be reflected fully until the December 12^th shuffle. 
 
FACT: The 2014 Benefits Guides and pricing information are now available online at www.my.aa.com  2014 enrollment will open on November 1, 2013, and close at midnight on November 15, 2013.
