ABR/NPA Ratified, Final VEOP, Profit Sharing, Bid Line Guarantee, DST, Send Us Your Photos!
Congratulations to us all! Last Friday, February 28th, the clock started ticking on our direct path to a combined contract as Flight Attendants of the new American. Now that we are a single Negotiating Team representing all AA Flight Attendants, we have begun the process of preparing to bargain with the company. Under the NPA, we have 60 days to meet internally as a joint committee (end of April) followed by 150 days of bargaining with American management (end of September). Look for a letter from APFA President Laura Glading and AFA-MEC President Roger Holmin in your mailboxes soon. For more information on the process going forward, click here.
VOLUNTARY EARLY OUT (VEOP2) FINAL
Friday was the last day to proffer for VEOP 2. A total of 304 eligible pre-merger AA Flight Attendants elected to take the early out effective May 2014. Click here to view the complete list.
PROFIT SHARING UPDATE
The company has announced the approximate Profit Sharing payout percentage for our workgroup. Pre-merger AA Flight Attendants will receive approximately 1.5% of their 2013 eligible earnings on March 13, 2014. For details on the Profit Sharing program, click here.
BID LINE GUARANTEE PROTECTION REMINDER
With the seemingly never ending weather problems throughout the country, it is important for Flight Attendants to follow the bid line guarantee protection language in order to reap the benefits. For detailed information on bid line guarantee protection, please visit the APFA Scheduling Department page.

ATTENTION RESERVES (and others): DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME AND YOUR 24-HOUR DFP
For those of you in locations that observe Daylight Savings Time, don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour this Sunday morning, March 9th at 2:00 a.m. Since the clock will move forward, there are only 23 hours on the 9th. As a result, Duty Free Periods (DFP) or 24’s that would otherwise be midnight to midnight will reflect an end time of 0100 on March 10th. This tends to lead to some confusion, especially for those serving Reserve. Be careful not to confuse this as meaning an entire additional Duty Free Period on your schedule. Rather, it is a reflection that the 24-hour DFP actually extends one hour into the following day.
