FACT Rep Update – March 5, 2014
FACT: On February 28th US Airways Flight Attendants represented by the AFA-CWA ratified the Agreement on Bargaining and Representation (ABR) and Negotiations Protocol (NPA).
FACT: APFA and AFA will file for a single carrier application with the NMB requesting APFA as the bargaining representative for all Flight Attendants at the new American no later than June 9th. This will be the first step to the NMB certifying APFA as the bargaining representative of the combined Flight Attendant workgroup at the new American Airlines.
FACT: Negotiations for a Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement will begin between the company and our combined negotiating team no later than the beginning of May 2014. Negotiations will last no longer than 150 days following commencement (unless both parties agree to extend).
FACT: The combined AFA and APFA negotiating teams will meet beginning this week in preparation for negotiations for a joint contract.
FACT: As part of the agreement, three-party (APFA, AFA and AA) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) discussions are taking place this week in Washington.
FACT: Flight Attendants will have a joint contract no later than February 2015.
FACT: Final VEOP awards were posted Monday on the Flight Service website. 304 Flight Attendants successfully proffered for VEOP2. All Flight Attendants awarded VEOP2 will have an exit day of May 2, 2014.
