FACT: (National Scheduling Department) Option II is open every day and is run after Make Up and Sick Make Up in the 1330 round. Limited Option II, Regularly Scheduled and Reserve Critical Coverage, and Adjacent Base (AB) are only open at Crew Schedule discretion. Also, when AB flying is open, trips are awarded in seniority order based on HISEND requests regardless of projection. HISENDS must be received by 1330 at the Adjacent Base Crew Scheduling when open. For the month of May AB flying will be open every day at IOR and ORD. Additional information on AB flying can be found here https://www.www.apfa.org/images/scheduling/101813-Adjacent-Base-Info-Sheet.pdf
Note: If you are an INTL FA and interested in picking up a domestic trip that will exceed 30 hours in 7 days, you must waive 30 in 7 in order to be legal for the sequence. INTL sequences flown during the same 7-day period preceding a DOM trip apply to the calculation and could create an illegality for the DOM trip. If you are a DOM FA be aware that the INTL hours could create an illegality for a subsequent DOM trip. (Entry to waive 30 in 7: HI30/MON/S)
FACT: (JNC) Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) Base Visits conclude on May 12 at MIA/IMA with Rick Knuth and Randy Trautman. Additional base visits will be scheduled as time permits. Email any negotiations questions to the JNC team at [email protected].
FACT: APFA, AFA-CWA and AA Reach a Merger Transition Agreement (MTA)
Last week, APFA, AFA-CWA and American Airlines agreed on protections for Flight Attendants during the period prior to the effective date of the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) or, in some situations, prior to the FAA’s issuance of a single operating certificate. The full language for the MTA can be found here https://www.www.apfa.org/images/A/signedMTA.pdf. These protections are in addition to those provided in the APFA/AA and AFA/US Airways contracts and will remain in place until the effective date of the JCBA.
