FACT: All 24,500 Flight Attendants who are in good standing, including those Flight Attendants on probation, will be eligible to vote should a T/A be sent to the membership for ratification. For LUS Flight Attendants who have yet to sign-up for APFA membership and dues check-off, we encourage you to do so now by going directly to APFA.org and completing the electronic APFA membership and dues check-off card. Cards are also available in hard copy from the APFA Membership Department at [email protected].
FACT: The NMB certified APA as the bargaining representative for the pilots. This is another important step in our merger as we move closer to a single operating certificate and the full integration of our work forces. For the NMB’s determination please click here.
FACT: The coalition of the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (CWA-IBT) was overwhelmingly voted in as the bargaining agent for all Customer Service and Gate Agents at the new American Airlines. To read more about this election please click here.
Fact or fiction
Q: If we do NOT have a T/A by September 19th, will only the unresolved items go to arbitration, or will the ENTIRE contract go to arbitration?
A: The arbitrators will consider only those items that are not T/A’d. At this point, we anticipate all non-economic and scheduling provisions will be agreed to, leaving only the economic items left for arbitration should we not have a T/A in full by the 19th.
