Investigative reports regarding the crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 state that it may have been intentional. APFA will not speculate on the incident or the circumstances surrounding what may or may not have taken place. Our support and condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the crew and passengers who were killed in this catastrophe.
This incident highlights the importance of our jobs as safety professionals. APFA is confident that our procedures are solid and in place to prevent incidents like this. The TSA has begun an investigation into individuals who may have disclosed security-sensitive information to the media. This serves as a reminder to all members that SSI information should never be shared with anyone other than our fellow crewmembers.
