Hotel Allocations – LAA
The September hotel allocations will be posted to the AFPA Hotel Page as soon as they have been completed. These allocations are for the cities which have more than two hotels and show up on the bid sheet as //see HIHTL//. The September hotel information will not be uploaded to HIHTL until bids have finalized system wide and then it takes approximately 24 hours to appear. If the company uploads the September information before the bids have finalized, then the rest of August would be booted out and the hotel assignment would be incorrect. These allocations are the same ones the hotels receive. The AA Hotel Contract Department doesn’t operate on a set calendar month. We carry in the last 2-3 days of the previous month into the allocations for the upcoming month so we grab any carry-overs and changed pairings. This has proved to be helpful in not having crews show up to the wrong hotel or show up to a hotel that the rooms haven’t been reserved.
Hotel Allocations – LUS
The hotel allocations on the LUS side are all done manually and is a continuing WORD/Text document. This is due to the differing computer systems still in use. In the cities that have multiple hotels, the Company representative can only list one hotel for the bid packet and then has to manually go in and pull flights out of that hotel information for placement in the other hotels based on layover length, room caps, etc. It is a very labor intensive job and in most cases the representative is still working on the assignments just before the beginning of the new month. It is for this reason that APFA is not able to get the hotel allocations during the LUS bid run to post on the Hotel Page. Also, due to this process, the LUS hotel allocations run on a calendar month with the exception of February that brings March 1 into the February hotel allocations.
LAX-Short Transportation – LAA
Starting on August 17, Five Star will provide the transportation from the short layover hotel to LAX airport for departure times from 5:00am to 9:00am. The individual pairings have been updated with this new transportation information. We will continue to monitor this market and see if any additional time-frames need to be added.
Overnight Hotel Guests- LAA/LUS
As a reminder, please register your overnight guest(s) with the hotel upon arrival. The guest(s) will need to check-out with you.
