- American Airlines Announces Record Profits
- APFA Appoints Additional Compensation Task Force
American Airlines today announced the highest quarterly profit in company history. On a call with investors and media, senior management reported a $1.9 billion profit for the third quarter of 2015. Much credit was given to the 100,000 team members who are continuing to help build the world’s greatest airline. While APFA appreciates the sentiment, Flight Attendants deserve more than that for their hard work, patience, and sacrifice. That is why National President Marcus Gluth has appointed an Additional Compensation Taskforce (ACT) to examine options to obtain additional compensation before the New Year. The ACT has already convened and begun work and they expect to contact American CEO Doug Parker soon.
The members of the ACT are:
- Liz Geiss – Chairperson
- Dale Dreyer
- Chris Housman
- Tim Legeros
- Lena Roth
- Scott Tomlinson
The ACT is examining different courses of action to take in an effort to produce positive results for our Flight Attendants. Many different viewpoints were provided, and collectively the team has set the course to accomplish its goals. The ACT will rely heavily on membership involvement in order to succeed.
