Noelle Weiler – National Safety & Security Chair
The National Safety & Security Chair is appointed by the National President, with Executive Committee approval, and reports to the National President’s office.
Qualifications and responsibilities are outlined in the APFA Policy Manual.
The APFA National Safety & Security Department (SSD) Representatives on Duty, the APFA Cabin ASAP Event Review Team (ERT) Representatives and the APFA Go Team Members are selected and appointed by the National Safety & Security Chair (NSSC). The NSSC represents the APFA membership at company and industry meetings, conferences and committees related to aviation safety and security as well as hold the positions as the APFA Cabin ASAP Administrator and the APFA Go Team Leader.

All APFA Safety & Security Department Representatives; National SSD Reps on Duty, Cabin ASAP ERT Reps and Go team Members, are APFA members in good standing and active AA Flight Attendants. The National SSD Reps on Duty volunteer to participate in the required four consecutive days of training conducted by the NSSC at APFA headquarters before being considered and scheduled as a department rep on duty. The National SSD Rep on Duty work at a desk within the department at APFA headquarters during the normal business hours of Monday through Friday 0900 – 1700 Central time zone answering calls and emails involving flight attendant safety and/or security. The National SSD Rep on Duty will also on occasion be assigned after hours/weekend on call status for emergency response. The Cabin ASAP ERT Reps on Duty attend extensive company and FAA conducted ASAP training and also required to be trained in the concepts and processes of Just Culture. All APFA Cabin ASAP ERT Reps on Duty are required to attend as an observer a minimum of five Cabin ASAP ERT meetings as a part of the required training. The APFA Go Team Members attend the required AA/NTSB accident investigation “Go Team” training as well as complete the annual Blood Bourne Pathogen on-line lesson. Each Go Team Member is required to receive and maintain a series of immunizations/vaccines.
