A Message from the Wings Foundation:
Thank you DFW Flight Attendants!
Over the last 6 quarters, DFW Flight Attendants have collected 343,939 pounds of aluminum cans inflight!!! Please congratulate yourselves for bringing in 53% of cans collected system wide. The funds raised from inflight recycling go directly to benefit the Wings Foundation Flight Attendant Relief Fund (FADRF). American Airlines DOES NOT benefit from the financial proceeds raised by the aluminum recycling program.
With the first two quarters of 2015 reporting, Flight Attendants recycled over 356,460 lbs. of aluminum cans, generating $74,478 for the Flight Attendant Disaster Relief Fund. Â Sadly, our inflight aluminum recycling effort has decreased 43% from 2014 system wide and 16.75% in DFW. Please continue to recycle on every flight, every day, in every station. In 2015, $31,000 was provided to eight (8) Flight Attendants whose homes were damaged by fires or floods through the Wings Foundation Flight Attendant Disaster Relief Fund.
In 2015, The Wings Foundation was able to pay out a total of $878,000 in Program Services to Flight Attendants who qualified for Wings Assistance. Â Our 13 Base Cities donated over $411,000 through Monthly Payroll Deductions. Â
