FACT Check – LAA/LUS

Q: I heard that we will be able to pick up trips out of base under the JCBA, is this true?
A: This is false. There is no provision in the 2014 JCBA for Flight Attendants to pick up trips in a base other than their current base.

Q: Are the payroll dates for LAA transitioning to be the same as LUS?
A: Yes. LAA Flight Attendants will transition to the payroll dates defined in JCBA Section 3.N.

  • Flight Attendants shall be paid semimonthly (twenty-four (24) pay checks per year) on the fifteenth (15th) and thirtieth (30th) of each month except as specified in Paragraph O.3.
  • A Flight Attendants’ pay on the thirtieth (30th) of the month shall be equal to thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours (one-half of Reserve Guarantee). The balance of pay due will be paid on the fifteenth (15th) of the following month.
  • If the thirtieth (30th) pay date falls on a weekend or a banking holiday, the pay date will become the preceding business day. If the fifteenth (15th) falls on a weekend or banking holiday, the pay date will become the following business day.

The Company must provide ninety (90) days notice prior to the bid month of the transition. The Company has not provided such a notice at this time.

Q: For LAA, are we able to pick up trips during vacation?
A: No, this provision in JCBA 8.G will be implemented concurrently with PBS.

Q: I heard that we are going to hire FAlight Attendants in Brazil. Is this true?
A: This is false. APFA checked with Flight Service and this was a rumor started by a blogger in Brazil.

Q: I’m already 777-300 qualified, do I need to complete the 777-300 Differences Training online by May 15th?
A: No, the 777-300 Differences web based training is for FA’s who are 777-200 qualified. FA’s who are 777-200 qualified but are not 777-300 qualified must complete this web based training by May 15th, 2016.

Q: Training Support Desk said that I do not receive online training pay for 787 training because I volunteered. Is this correct?
A: This is incorrect. All training are paid according to JCBA Section 29.E, including online training. The training pay is the same whether you volunteered, proffered, triggered, or were drafted.

Reserves: How long do I have to return a call to Crew Schedule? – LAA

Sitting ready Reserve and miss a call from Crew Schedule? Section 12.H.4. has now been implemented. If you’ve provided two phone contacts (a primary and a secondary), you will have 15 minutes to respond to Crew Schedule from the time they call you on your secondary contact number, otherwise it is 15 minutes from the initial call. The clock starts running on the 2 hours (or 3 in a co-terminal) call out time to report to the airport after the Flight Attendant completes the call with crew scheduling.

VLOA Ballot for June – LAA

Crew Scheduling Feedback Form – LAA/LUS

In order to better affect change for our members, APFA has resumed the Crew Scheduling Feedback Form for you to submit your experiences with Crew Schedule, Crew Tracking, Crew Scheduling Systems and the Hotel Limo desk over the next 30 days. We want to hear if you had a good, bad or ugly experience and if you believe there was a contractual violation.

Submitting the form will not replace the need to contact the appropriate APFA Representative to pursue an individual resolution or file a Notice of Dispute. This information is intended to provide APFA examples to use in our discussions with the Company, in an easy to review and search format.
