APFA PHL Base Council Meeting – Wednesday, May 25
PHL will be hosting a base meeting on Wednesday, May 25th from 12pm until 4pm at the Hampton Inn PHL Airport. The hotel has shuttle service available by calling 215-966-1300.
With the recent announcements of fleet reductions, route swaps, loss of flying, hotel issues, Air Quality/Fume Events and much more, we have a lot to discuss. We will be addressing these issues as well as base specific problems. APFA’s newly elected National Officers will be in attendance to answer your questions and talk about our future. Please take the time to attend, have your voice heard, and your concerns addressed.
A. Marie Plevritis, our National Hotel Chair, has selected two PHL-Based Flight Attendants to work with her. Tracey Montanari and Karen Minor will serve on the National Hotel Committee. Thank you Tracey and Karen for stepping up and getting involved at the National level.
I would also like to announce that Tracey has agreed to be our CSD/Purser liaison for the PHL base and PHL inflight. She is a base rep for PHL, and a CSD/Purser qualified Flight Attendant. If you are a CSD/Purser and you have questions or concerns, we now have a dedicated person to help resolve issues that may arise. Tracey can be contacted at [email protected].
Non-Rev Travel Policy & Jumpseat
We continue to see problems with the Non-Rev Travel Policy. The problems include, but are not limited to, Agents not rolling standby lists properly, Flight Attendants ending up on the jumpseat having their connection cancelled, and names being rolled over that were never at the gate for the first flight. If you experience a problem at the gate in PHL, you should call the crew service center immediately to get a Flight Service Manager up to the gate. It would be very helpful for your APFA Base Representatives if you could document the issue with screenshots of the lists and your boarding cards, if possible. We need continued proof that these things are still happening.
In Unity and Solidarity,
APFA PHL Base President
