Evacuation of AA Flight 731 at LHR – LAA/LUS

Early this morning AA Flight 731 scheduled from LHR to CLT was involved in an incident while parked at the gate at LHR. It was reported that heavy smoke filled the cabin of the A330 during boarding. Flight Attendants in the rear of the aircraft initiated an evacuation and a passenger armed and operated 3R. Approximately 25 passengers evacuated via slides and the rest via the jetbridge. The Crew is on their way to a local hospital after being evaluated by EMT’s. No major injuries of the crew have been reported from the evacuation; however they did report issues from the smoke.
