Remembering 9/11 – Fifteen Years Later
Fifteen years ago, the United States suffered one of the world’s most major tragedies in our history. Every continent felt the loss when 2,996 people perished, with an additional 6,000 injured.
That day 265 souls were lost on four aircraft. Of those souls 33 were our fellow sisters and brothers who we continue to mourn and hail as heroes and First Responders.
Time has moved forward, but once a year our memories and hearts return us to that day where our industry and our Nation was attacked. We grieve for their loss, but we continue to stand strong in their memory. Today we will stand wing to wing and heads held high proudly proclaiming them by name; not because we might forget them, but as a reminder to those who tried to use fear and hate to destroy the world’s community. We proclaim that we will not go quiet into this night. Our sisters and brothers will now and always be remembered for the heroes that they are and always will be. Time will forget the names of hate, but the heroic deeds of the 33 crewmembers will forever be spoken out loud.
