FAA Inspections and Tablet Audits in PHX Next Week
The FAA is scheduled to conduct carry-on baggage inspections and Flight Attendant tablet audits in PHX from Monday, September 26th through Wednesday, September 28th. All Flight Attendants scheduled to fly into and out of PHX during this time period should be prepared to have their tablet and inspected by an FAA Cabin Safety Inspector.
In order to remain in compliance with the FAA requirements and to avoid an inadvertent FAR violation, please adhere to the following:
- Each Flight Attendant must have a fully charged tablet with a fully charged back-up battery on their person at the start of each day of scheduled flying. It is highly recommended to charge the back-up battery at least once a month. When the back-up battery is fully charged, the red charging light will change to green.
- Tablets must be turned on and have the latest bulletins and revisions downloaded before boarding any aircraft as an assigned working crewmember of the flight.
Any questions about FAA requirements can be sent to the APFA Safety and Security Department at [email protected].
If you experience a lost or stolen tablet after pairing origination, please contact Flight Service Daily Operations at (888) 222-4737. They will be able to assistance in obtaining the approved temporary version of a paper copy of required manual pages, until you are able to obtain a loaner tablet or a replacement tablet.
Any Flight Attendant who experiences an inadvertent violation of the tablet may consider voluntarily submitting a Cabin ASAP Report. Questions about Cabin ASAP may be sent directly to [email protected].
