We Salute Our Veterans – LAA/LUS

APFA honors America’s servicemen and women this Veterans Day. We salute all our members who selflessly serve or have served in the Armed Forces. We will never take for granted the sacrifices made in the name of freedom. Thank you!

Don’t Forget to Document Your Blues – LAA/LUS

If you choose to wear your former legacy uniform (blues) after having a reaction, or even if you do not feel comfortable wearing the new one until the issue is resolved, you must contact the AA Call Center to have it documented. Flight Service will be conducting compliance checks in order to verify that Flight Attendants who have chosen to wear the former uniform are on the list.

The former LUS & LAA navy blue sweaters and navy blue all weather coats are authorized for use by those who are wearing the former uniform or those who have been authorized to purchase their own gray pants/slacks and white shirt.

Remember, you are not required to launder items multiple times or follow unusual laundering techniques in order to get authorization to wear your former uniform. If you are uncomfortable wearing the new uniform for any reason, call the AA Call Center and get it documented.

Retirement Seminars Next Week – LAA/LUS

APFA Retirement Seminars will take place at the following bases next week:

11/14 – SFO – General Manager’s Conference Room located down the hall and to the left of Flight Service Operations
11/15 – LAX – Conference Room located in Flight Service Operations
11/16 – PHX – British Airways Conference Room located in Terminal 4, above Gate B22 on the Mezzanine Level

All three seminars are scheduled from 1100-1400 local base time.

Members in the Legacy American pension plan are advised to print out an estimate from Jetnet prior to the meetings.

Members in Legacy US Airways pension plans must call the PBGC at (800)400-7242 or visit the website at http://mypba.pbgc.gov to request an estimate via the US mail.

It’s never too early to start planning for retirement and all members, regardless of their seniority, are welcome to attend.
