Hurricane Season
Our thoughts are with all that have been affected by the recent destruction caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. We have hundreds of Flight Attendants that live in these hard-hit areas. If you would like to help, the WINGS Foundation is accepting donations to assist our Flight Attendants who have suffered losses due to the hurricane damage. Please visit the WINGS Foundation website.
Also, if you missed the PHL Lip Sync Review and heard what a great time it was, you can still catch this very popular fund-raising event for the WINGS Foundation. DFW will be holding their annual Lip Sync Extravaganza September 27th from 7pm-11pm CDT at the Round-Up Saloon, 3912 Cedar Springs Road, Dallas, TX 75219. Visit the WINGS Foundation website for more information.
Rescheduling
Please review Section 10. J. Rescheduling of the LUS 2013 Redbook Agreement, which can be found on our tablets.
There is a very big misconception out there that we may not be rescheduled. We take calls nearly everyday from Flight Attendants who are being rescheduled, and feel the Company may not reschedule them. The language in Section 10 J is very clear: as long as scheduling is following the language, we can be rescheduled. Make sure you pay attention to your duty day limitation—we can exceed the chart by two hours in actual operations, but a reschedule must remain within the original duty day limitation.
For example, if your duty day limitation is 13+15, at the time of the reschedule, your duty day cannot exceed 13+15. They must reschedule within the confines of the chart based on your original report time and number of legs scheduled.
If you believe you are being rescheduled illegally, please call your local base reps immediately with date, time, and the scheduler you spoke with so we can investigate the situation and have tapes pulled if necessary.
