Representing the Flight Attendants of American Airlines

11.01.17 – (LAA/LUS) – Full Page Ad by Partnership for Open & Fair Skies

Wednesday, November 1, 2017

Today, the Partnership for Open & Fair Skies sent an open letter to President Trump showcasing the widespread support from 300 members of Congress for the U.S. government to address the massive Gulf carrier subsidies and protect American jobs. The letter ran as a full-page advertisement in today’s New York Times and the New York Post.

APFA is part of a broad coalition of unions and air carriers that opposes the expansion of the three Middle East Gulf carriers (Qatar, Emirates and Etihad) in the United States. Our opposition is based on the enormous and illegal subsidies these airlines receive from their respective governments which create unfair competition and threaten American jobs.

APFA has spoken out repeatedly on this issue over the past several years. This year, APFA National President Bob Ross authored Op-eds in both Forbes and The Daily Caller and spoke at the press conference that was held in conjunction with APFA members who came to Washington to lobby Congress on this issue in May.

Your voice continues to play an important role in sending the message to the White House. Let the White House know that we must support and protect American aviation jobs.
