11.27.17 – Elevate Training, Upfront Employee Parking, DFW Health Clinic

Hello DFW!

The DFW Team hopes everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Here are a few items we are working on in December:

Elevate Training

I recently filed a Base Notice of Dispute (NOD) for the Flight Attendants who did not complete the in-person “Elevate” class during 2017.

Please send an email to prdfw[at]www.apfa.org with a short explanation if you experienced any of the following issues related to the Elevate training:

  • Several unsuccesful attempts to complete the training.
  • Unable to complete the training on AA computers in AA ops.
  • The loss of already completed modules requiring multiple redos.
  • Unnecessary trips to the airport to complete the training.
  • Excessive time spent accessing, completing, and confirming completion of the required training

Upfront Employee Parking

Bobby Bulham and I, along with the DFW Airport Board and Flight Service, have been in talks for upfront employee parking.

DFW Flight Service has secured 130 slots for “24 Hour” upfront Terminal D parking. The slots will be offered in seniority order to Flight Attendants based at DFW. There are several stipulations to be followed if you accept the “24 Hour” upfront parking:

  1. You will be required to sign an acceptance form that outlines the rules and regulations.
  2. You will only have the first 24 Hours free parking. After the first 24 hours, you will be charged at the regular rate for the remainder of the days your car is parked on Level 6.
  3. You may ONLY park in Terminal D Level 6. Once you pass through the initial toll booth on the North or South entrance, you will have approximately 20 minutes to reach Terminal D Level 6. At that time, you will enter through another booth to get onto Level 6. When leaving, you will have approximately 20 minutes to exit from Level 6, Terminal D to the North or South exit.
  4. Any violations will be subject to having your “24 Hour” parking pass terminated.
  5. Any and all questions, concerns and complaints about the “24 Hour” parking pass should be directed to the DFW Airport Board.

In the next few weeks, an APFA DFW Rep will be calling Flight Attendants in seniority order to offer the opportunity to receive one of the 130 “24 Hour” parking slots.

Flight Attendants will have until December 31, 2017 to respond. If you choose NOT to accept the “24 Hour” parking pass, you do not need to respond. Once we have all 130 slots confirmed, you will receive a phone call and instructions on how to apply and obtain the “24 Hour” parking slot.

We are still working on getting discounted parking in the terminals.
