4.10.18 – May 2018 DFW Allocations Call

May 2018 DFW Allocations Call

Manning Information:

  • 5408 Total Headcount for May 2018. Increase of 57 Flight Attendants from April 2018.
  • 5177 Available Headcount. DFW has 231 inactive Flight Attendants.
  • 4004 Bid Jobs are planned. Increase of 140 jobs from April 2018.
  • No Open Replacement Lines are planned.
  • 419 Vacation Relief Lines are planned. Decrease of 186 relief lines year over year.
  • Manning will send out a HI6 message if VLOA are available for May.
  • 754 (14.6%) Flight Attendants are planned to serve reserve in May 2018. Decrease of 23 Flight Attendants from April 2018.
  • May is the January rotation for Flight Attendants on the one on three off reserve rotation.

In January of 2018, we had 927 Flight Attendants serving reserve. Flight Attendants may see relief as May’s reserve numbers are lower. The Company did advise all bases that they were conservative in forecasting their reserve numbers and may have to pull Flight Attendants from the back up reserve list.

DFW APFA is recommending that all Flight Attendants on the back up reserve list bid reserve lines in addition to their regular bid lines.

Crew Manning will be sending out information regarding changes that are taking place in May in regards to Open Replacement and Vacation Relief. Information will also be published in the May bid packet.

132 Flight Attendants were awarded transfers to DFW effective May 2nd. Five new hire classes (715 Flight Attendants) will graduate in May.

New Hire posting information is located on the flight service website under Crew Resources/Crew Planning.

DFW continues to receive new hire speakers only. Once the DFW transfer list is cleared, DFW will be eligible for non speaker new hires. Planning has indicated that vacancy transfers will be proffered for June.

Target line average for DFW is 81.6 hours.

Allocations Call:

International Flight Attendants will be happy to hear that the 777 equipment will not be mixed in May.

The base received many complaints regarding LHR flying for April.

Planned 777-200 flying for May: OGG, HNL, HKG, NRT, FCO, AMS, FRA, MAD, CDG, EZE, SCL, & MIA.

Planned 777-300 flying for May: LHR, GRU.

Planned 787 flying for May: PVG, ICN, PEK, LAX.

BOG will continue to have a 23-hour layover. Network planning continues to cross route DFW-BOG and MIA-BOG aircraft. The purpose of the metal swap in BOG is routine maintenance in MIA for the A319. We will continue to address this issue.

Allocations programmed the optimizer in May to put a high penalty on four leg day sequences. The result of the new programming created more four day trips. The base has requested that the four day trips be paired together and to create commutable lines if possible. We did request to break up some of the four day trips and provided sequence numbers to allocations.

Crew manning has advised all bases that the bid run may take longer than usual due to the new JCBA language being implemented in May.
