Action Alert: The FAA Reauthorization Bill is on the Move!
The FAA Reauthorization bill is on the move. The current bill is set to expire on September 30, 2018.
We are urging APFA members to call their member of Congress, particularly their Senators, to urge the “passage of the FAA Reauthorization as written and passed by the House of Representatives”.
This year, the House passed a bill with bi-partisan support and APFA members were there, on the Hill, urging support. The bill contains a number of provisions we believe are important. Included is the increased study on cabin air quality, continuing the ban of cell phone use on planes, important first steps in addressing Flight Attendant fatigue, seat size and increased attention to aircraft evacuation procedures, harmonizing standards for service animals, banning flags of convenience air carriers that undercut US carriers, and increased training to identify human trafficking; our most vulnerable passengers.
To reach your Senator call 202-224-3121 and simply follow the instructions. Phone lines are busy, but don’t give up!
