11.05.18 – Mobilize New York and Newark
Mobilize New York and Newark is at last up and running! We have finally secured our permit to picket at the American Airlines terminal on November 18th, the 25th Anniversary of our historic strike.
We are very excited about this event and are looking forward to seeing you there. Member Mobilization Event on November 18th and future events that APFA headquarters has planned can be found on the Facebook page dedicated to the upcoming picketing, wAAke Up American, that members can join to receive more information.
For our upcoming local event we will have signs, bag tags and for those walking the line with us we will have t-shirts. We have a limited number of t-shirts which will be available on a first come basis. If you are coming in from a trip join us on the line, if you are joining us on your day off come as you are. We will be mobilizing.
Because this event covers a range of grievances against the company including the toxic uniforms, and out of respect for our members who have been adversely affected by the uniform, we are urging our members to come in your old uniform, your alternate grays or in street clothes.
At JFK we will be picketing at the roped off area, on the bottom level across from the AirTrain. EWR we will be picketing on the departure level in front of the terminal.
Be on the lookout for more information in the coming days about not only our local Mobilization Event, but information about future events system wide.
Many of you have reached out to me to volunteer at JFK and EWR on the 18th. Feel free to contact Robert Norvell, (718) 809-8988, [email protected], who is the co-ordinator for EWR; Rosalind Inyang, (615) 479-7721, [email protected], and myself, Penelope King (917) 797-6537, [email protected], who are the co-ordinators for JFK. For those of you that have been Flight Attendants for a long time and understand what our Union is and what it can do for our members join us on the picket line once again. I encourage you to speak to our newest Flight Attendants and urge as many as possible to participate in this event.
We are looking forward to seeing you at JFK and EWR on November 18th, from 1100-1300!
