Lineholder/Reserve Designator (LRD) Tool
Each month, all Flight Attendants will have access to the Lineholder/Reserve Designator Tool. You will use the LRD tool to preference either Lineholder or “Senior Bumping” onto Reserve. Below is some general information concerning the LRD Tool and a link to a presentation with more information. We recommend you check the tool every month to make sure your status is correct. If you think your status is not correct please contact the FABRC immediately.
The LRD Tool opened yesterday at Noon(DFW Time). When you log into the Crew Portal, you will see the LRD Tool in the bottom right hand corner of the page. You will either be in Lineholder, Tentative or Reserve status in LRD. The LRD will also show your seniority for the group you are associated with.
It is important to remember, if you are satisfied with your designated status shown when LRD opens, it is unnecessary to use the toggle on the LRD Tool.
The number of Flight Attendants in the “Tentative” category will be equal to the number of Voluntary Leave of Absence (VLOA) in your base, if VLOAs are offered.
For both Lineholder and Tentative the default will always be Lineholder status. If you would like to be on Reserve (Senior Bump) you would toggle over to Reserve. Keep in mind that if you have more than three (3) days of vacation and Senior Bump onto Reserve it will not count towards your Reserve obligation.
If you are in the Reserve grouping the default setting is to Reserve. If you would like to bid off reserve, move the toggle switch to Lineholder. If you are successful in bidding off Reserve, it will not count towards your Reserve obligation.
The LRD will close on the 7th of each month, Noon(DFW Tme). When PBS opens on the 10th of every month you will see the results of the LRD tool in your PBS dashboard. Please review your status prior to bidding in PBS.
This LRD Tool PowerPoint Presentation will provide you with more information and examples regarding the LRD tool. Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at PBS@apfa.org or reach out to the Flight Attendant Bidding Resource Center (FABRC) at 888-376-5375.
