Statement by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants

Dallas, TX (March 11)— “The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) has been monitoring the accident investigation of Ethiopian Airlines closely since the tragedy occurred. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of crew and passengers who perished yesterday on Ethiopian Airlines flight 302 shortly after takeoff. The flight data and cockpit voice recorders have both been recovered and will be examined.

Once that information is available, we will know more important details of how this unfortunate accident occurred.  We are in touch with our company American Airlines, government officials and with our brother and sister unions, APA and TWU. Currently, all 24 of AA’s 737-Max 8 aircraft are in operation. The safety of our crew members and our passengers are a top priority.”
