JCBA TRAINING – April 2nd
Please join APFA Contract and Scheduling Chairs Erik Harris and Becky Lydecker as well as members of the JSIC, for JCBA Training in PHL on April 2nd from 930am-4pm in the PHL Airport Tour Room.
APFA BOD CONVENTION
The APFA BOD Convention was held last week in Boston, MA. At this meeting, Executive Committee Ad Hoc elections were held. Congratulations to Kerstin Conners, DFW based Flight Attendant, and Joe Seelye, PHX based Flight Attendant, who were each elected to serve a three- year term beginning April 1st, 2019.
When there is an Ad Hoc election, bases may be assigned new Ad Hoc representatives on the Executive Committee. Kerstin Conners will be the new PHL representative on the Executive Committee– her email address is adhoc3@apfa.org.
37 G. JUMPSEAT
We receive a lot of calls regarding the jumpseat. Jumpseat language may be found in JCBA section 37.G. Remember, you may be bumped for weight and balance. However, if the flight is weight restricted and they are able to allow a pilot on the jumpseat, they must also allow a Flight Attendant on the jumpseat.
APFA AFTER HOURS LIVE CHAT
After hours or on the weekend, you may speak to a live chat rep via the APFA website, www.apfa.org.
APFA FACEBOOK CONTRACT Q & A PAGE
If you are a Facebook user, APFA now offers an official Q & A page where you may ask questions and receive official answers from the contract and scheduling reps.
SEQUENCE CONSTRUCTION SURVEY
Each month, each base, along with the scheduling department, participate in an allocations call to review and address how the sequences are built for each base. Over the last few years, we have seen a huge change in how our trips are built. This survey may help provide your base representatives with data on the type of flying the base prefers.
This survey does not guarantee a change in the flying in a particular base; however, it will provide useful information for your representatives.
