May 2019 Allocations

Each month, Base Leadership participates in an allocations and staffing conference call with Crew Manning and Crew Planning. We are going to start composing a monthly allocations Base Brief. We hope you will find this additional information helpful.

For May, we have a large increase in IPD flying with the arrival of the seasonal destinations. On the call, we noticed and addressed the increase in ground time within the sequences. APFA has asked the company to put out a communication explaining the reasoning behind the increase in long productivity breaks. We still will have redeye turns, a few pink eyes, and regular redeyes.

Below is the data that was provided on the allocations call:

PHL will have a total of 160,455 block hours for May, an increase of 17,487 hours as compared to April. The PIT satellite will have 5026 block hours. There will be 366 Flight Attendants serving Reserve, with a Reserve percentage for May of 15.2%, down from 18.1% in April. The total headcount for PHL is 2725 for the May bid month. The available headcount is 2473.
