Dear APFA Member,
Happy International Flight Attendant Day! You make the difference.
We are the first responders in the air and we’re proud of the role we play in safety and security but we should also be proud of the way we have blazed trails in women’s and human rights.
Flight Attendants were one of the first organized groups to challenge systemic and routine sex discrimination following the enactment of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. We have pressed our government to pass legislation on cabin air quality and the 2018 FAA Reauthorization Bill among other important issues.
Whether you’re in the air or transiting a busy airport, take a moment to consider the profound affect you have as you respond to the needs of hundreds of customers while simultaneously handling safety and medical emergencies. You make the difference.
All of us at APFA are proud to serve alongside you today and every day.
