Coronavirus Update – AA to Allow Crew Member Mask Use on Select Markets
With the insistence from APFA and other union leaders, AA is adjusting their policy to allow Flight Attendants to wear masks on flights to and from Shanghai (PVG), Beijing (PEK) and Hong Kong (HKG).
Symptoms of this illness to date include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. These symptoms also can occur with many other common respiratory infections, including influenza (flu).
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the following protocols for cabin crew:
- Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
- Covering your cough/sneeze with a tissue
- Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces
