Options During the Pandemic: PVLOA, VEOP, or Reduced Operations Flying

The next few months are going to be challenging. Flight Attendants have several different options to consider. Each option has different income amounts and benefits. APFA has created the chart below for you to compare and contrast the benefits of each option.

There is no perfect choice for everyone. Our priorities vary based on our individual circumstances, and as you review the options below, try and focus on your most important requirement(s).

Some Flight Attendants have told us that their most important priority is to be sure that they will not be exposed to the potential health risks associated with COVID-19. Those Flight Attendants should focus on the options that guarantee you will not be forced to fly.

Conversely, some have told us that protecting income is their highest priority. They should focus on the amount of guaranteed pay available for each option. Some of the options available to you will vary based on your seniority and where you are in the reserve rotation, if applicable.

Review the options below, and make sure that you understand what you will and will not receive with each option. Select the choice that works best for you and your family.
