8 Days Until Election 2020 – Have You Voted?

This election is the most important of our lifetimes.
It is critical that you make your vote count.

More Than an Election

The 2020 Election will be a pivotal moment in our history. Our nation will feel the significance of the outcome for a long time to come. Americans have watched COVID-19 destroy the livelihoods of Americans—including many of us in the aviation industry—through no fault of our own. Your vote matters. The ballot you cast next week will affect all three branches of our federal government. APFA members must cast their vote because decisions made in Washington directly affect our profession and our livelihoods, the strength of our Union, and the lives of millions hard-working Americans across the country. For example, the jobs of 8,000 of our colleagues lies in the hands of who we have elected to this Congress.

While national elections may make the biggest headlines, down ballot races are equally important. Issues such as unemployment insurance and accessibility to workers’ compensation are decided at the state level. Review the ballot carefully and vote for your family, your community, and your country.

Vote Early

The nature of our job, whether it is a scheduled layover or an unexpected delay, may prevent us from voting in person on November 3rd. Early voting in-person is also a great way to avoid long lines on Election Day! Many states are in the early voting process now. This is the best way for Flight Attendants to ensure that your ballot is counted in this close election.

Many states have also offered mail-in and absentee options. With just over a week to go, consider depositing your mail-in ballot in your local drop-off ballot box. Ensure your vote is counted in time.

Early Voting in Your State

21 states plus the District of Columbia allow you to register on Election Day. If you have not yet registered to vote, see if your state is one that allows week-of or same-day registration.

Registration Deadlines

APFA members, we must turn out to the polls like never before.
Our careers and our families depend on it.

Voting is your right. Utilize it.
