2021 Base Representative Elections & Voter FAQs

Flight Attendants based in CLT, DCA, DFW, LAX, LGA, MIA and PHX should have already received their ballots for the 2021 Base Representative Election.

Ballots must be received to the designated post office box no later than 1000 (CST) on March 5, 2021. Due to the inclement weather, we recommend you mail your ballot as soon possible.

On February 3, 2021 over 19,000 ballots were mailed to the membership. Of that 19,000, only 133 have been returned undeliverable by the USPS. To date 123 requests have been processed for a duplicate ballot. If you have not received your ballot, fill out the Duplicate Ballot request form below.

I reached out to the APFA Account Manager at the Ft. Worth Post Office and she recommends any member who has not received their ballot do the following:

The last day to request a Duplicate Ballot is 12:00pm CT on February 26, 2021. The NBC does not advise members to wait until this date as you may not have enough time to receive and mail it back. We ask that you read the information carefully before mailing your ballot. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE.

Where can I find information about the candidates?
Candidate information is now available on the elections page on the APFA website. Paper candidate booklets will no longer be provided in the mail with your ballot.

What are the eligibility requirements to vote? How do I determine if I’m a member in good standing?
In order to be eligible to vote, you must be an active member in good standing. A member is considered in good standing so long as they have met their dues obligation, with no dues in arrears for more than sixty (60) days. For your vote to count, you must be an active member in good standing by 1700 CT on March 1, 2021. (APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A-C – Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D)

You may check if you are a member in good standing or pay your dues by logging into APFA.org and then clicking on “My Account” in the upper left-hand corner.

You may also contact the APFA membership/dues department to confirm if you are in good standing. For assistance with online payments, to pay over the phone, or to check your dues status, you may contact:

  • APFA Membership Department at (817) 540-0108 ext. 8153
  • APFA Dues Department at (817) 540-0108 ext. 8151

Where am I eligible to vote?
Ballots are mailed to all members in the bases in which elections are to be held. You are eligible to vote for the base in which you are based on February 3, 2021.

For those members who changed bases due to base closure, displacement, or voluntary transfer, your Base Representative Election Ballot will reflect your base you have on record effective January 31, 2021.

I am on a 12-month VEOP, am I eligible to vote?
If you are on a 12-month VEOP, you are eligible to vote so long as you are a member in good standing. Please refer to the question above to determine your voter eligibility. You will vote at the base in which you are based on February 3, 2021.

Where do I mail my ballot?
Instructions on where to mail your completed ballot is included in the ballot instructions. Do not mail your completed ballot to APFA, and do not bring it to the ballot count. The ballots to be counted are those that are received at the designated Post Office Box.

Where will the ballot count take place?
The Ballots will be collected from the designated post office box on March 5, 2021 at 1000 CT. The ballot count will commence directly after at the address below. Once the National Ballot Committee certifies the election results, a hotline will be sent to the membership.
