CLT Parking Deck Delays
Good day,
The airport construction has been a challenge for everyone these past few days. The traffic backups have caused a nightmare with our employees being able to report on time. These delays have affected every workgroup, and we have taken our concerns to Management.
The transportation issue has caused our passengers to miss flights and caused flight delays in our system. Our workgroup has responded professionally by giving themselves more time to report for work. Still, there have been a few incidents where the delays have been unreasonable, and we have no other option but to wait.
The Charlotte airport should finish the canopy on the upper deck this week, and we are still scheduled to resume the old bus drop-off and pick-up locations. If you were caught up in any of the extensive delays and received a missed trip or a late report, document the event and contact your AFSM to address the points. If you have points directly related to this that are not mitigated, send your information with any documents to [email protected]. We will be filing Notice of Disputes (NODs), where necessary.
If you get caught up in any extended delays with the employee busses, follow these guidelines;
- Contact crew scheduling as soon as possible and keep them updated on the situation.
- Contact the crew service center and let them know what is happening.
- Call the CLT Local Union line and give us a heads up- 704-665-7474
- Document, document, document.. Keep an accurate record of the timeline of events, take pictures and/or video. Please forward this information to us so we can accurately record the extensive delays.
Take care of yourselves and each other,
The Charlotte APFA Team
In Solidarity,
Scott Hazlewood
