Dear PHX Flight Attendants:

On October 1, 2024 the AA-APFA CBA became effective with our new wage scale. Due to the increases system wide, including a pay raise of 20.5% at top out, budgetary decisions had to be made to run the union with the dues revenue available. Please keep in mind the following:

• APFA has not had an increase in dues since 2001
• APFA Flight Attendant wages have increased by 81% since 2001
• The cost of living has risen, since 2001, approximately 65.71%

The Board of Directors has met several times to discuss the necessary changes needed to continue to run APFA responsibly. Financial reform was first and foremost on the agenda for your APFA Board of Directors. After reviewing and brainstorming how we could make much-needed financial changes to the Policy Manual, your board of directors passed proposed changes to go to the Membership for a vote.

As your base leadership, both Secorra and I have done our best, in the past, to be available to you the Membership. Phone calls, texts, and emails are returned as soon as possible, if not immediately, 7 days a week, sometimes well after 5:00 pm and before 0500 in the morning. That representation does come at a cost. Since taking office in 2021, we worked with a budget that afforded us 80 hours a month each. With the passing of the contract and budgetary cuts, we now are making 60 hours a month and it will be necessary for us to fly 25 to 35 hours to cover our personal responsibilities. With these changes, it will affect our availability. We are working hard to ensure that at least one of us is available most days. But in all honesty, this will affect how quickly we can respond, as well as our availability to provide representation every day of the week.

A booklet has been sent to each of you explaining the dues restructure and frequently asked questions. Secorra and I have scheduled a PHX Virtual Townhall for Monday, January 6 at 1:00 pm to discuss the issues and answer any questions. We are asking you to review this information, and should you have any questions, please call or attend the virtual Town Hall. Then we ask that you take the time to vote for the policy changes and dues restructure.
