1.26.25 – APFA PHL Base Brief – PHL BCR Election Update

PHL BCR Election Update
Sunday, January 26, 2025
APFA PHL Flight Attendants,
Yesterday, we informed the APFA membership that an election would be required for the PHL Base Council Representative (BCR) position. According to the APFA Constitution, each base is allowed one (1) BCR for every 100 members or a fraction thereof. Given that PHL has 2,513 members, it is entitled to twenty-six (26) BCRs.
Initially, twenty-nine (29) members expressed interest in the PHL BCR position through their Willingness-to-Serve (WTS), including all three (3) candidates who are also running for Base Vice President. This situation made an election for the BCR position necessary.
However, after the announcement, two (2) members withdrew their candidacy for the PHL BCR position to reduce additional costs and administrative burdens related to holding an election. Furthermore, one (1) of the three (3) candidates also running for PHL Base Vice President will be elected to that position, which means they will not become a BCR.
With these developments, the remaining number of PHL BCR candidates matches the available twenty-six (26) PHL BCR positions, eliminating the need for an election for the PHL BCR positions.
Duly Elected PHL Base Council Representatives (BCRs)
