2.03.25 – APFA MIA Base Brief – March 2025 Staffing and Allocations

March 2025 MIA Staffing and Allocations
Monday, February 3, 2025
All,
We made it through the holidays and now we are getting ready for Spring Break.
Bid Sheet and Staffing
The Contractual Month for March is March 2 – March 31. The March schedule change is on March 6. Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 9.
PBS Preliminary Manning Plan – March 2025
The available headcount for March is 3439. This is an increase of 57 YOY and up 21 heads from February. The line average will be 77.4 hours at PBS opening. There will be no VLOA’s for the March bid month.
Reserve Projections
We are projected to have 633 Reserves for March, which represents 18.4% of the base. Our Reserve numbers are 1.13% YOY higher, and .05% higher than last month.
The Reserve seniority for February at the start of PBS was 11AUG22. For March the most senior reserve will be at seniority 10MAR22 with seniority number 21,465.
Good news. New hire training is underway. The first class is scheduled to be on the line in March. Miami is not open for Class 25-01. We will let you know about later classes.
Flying Summary
EZE will operate two daily trips, one on the 777-200 and one on the 787-8. GIG will operate on the 777-200 several times per week creating 60 and 80-hour layovers, and on the 787-8 daily. GRU will operate two daily flights with a Rocket on the 777-200, and a 40-hour layover on the 777-300. LHR will operate two daily flights 777-300. CDG will operate daily on the 787-8. MVD will operate three times weekly on the 787-8. MAD and BCN operate on the 777-200. BCN moves back to a 787-8 on 30March
For domestic, a LAS turn operates daily on the 777-200.
The Company has created a 3-leg turn that is split with a 787/321/777. Half of the crew (positions 1-4) will work all three legs, and half (positions 5-8) will deadhead on the middle leg. This will cause seniority questions. We are awarded trips per sequence numbers, not flight numbers. You might see yourself on a flight with a much junior person deadheading, but it does not mean there is a seniority violation because the sequence numbers will be different. How you are awarded the trip (PBS/ETB/TTS/UBL) will determine the seniority. Despite our objection to these pairings, the Company was not willing to find a better solution.

We have had an increase in calls regarding not receiving ONE Notifications from CCI for gate changes. Don’t rely on these notifications. Double check your CCI or airport monitors for gate information since gate changes can be very far apart.
Reserve Assignment Confirmation
For those who have not been on Reserve for a while, this is a reminder that only Crew Portal is used for Reserve assignment confirmation, or a call to Crew Schedule. CCI confirmation is not accepted.

The leave request and status information has been moved to Jetnet. The path is Jetnet > Resources > Team Member Services > Leaves and Returns > AbsenceTracker > Request or My Cases.
