Notification of Willingness-to-Serve Reminder:
MIA Base Vice President

MIA Flight Attendants,
This is a reminder that the National Ballot Committee (NBC) has posted the Willingness-to-Serve (WTS) for the position of Base Vice President for MIA on APFA.org.
The Base Vice President’s Role is as follows, but not limited to:
- Support Role
- Assists the Base President in performing all duties and discharging responsibilities (APFA Constitution, Section 9.B.1; APFA Policy Manual, Section 9.2).
- Acts in the full capacity of the Base President in their absence or vacancy (APFA Constitution, Section 9.B.2; APFA Policy Manual, Section 9.2).
- Ensures regular communication with Base Presidents, Executive Committees, and National Officers (APFA Policy Manual, Section 9.3).
- Council Participation
- Actively participates in Base Council meetings, helping to resolve issues, report on inquiries, and support the council’s actions (APFA Policy Manual, Section 9.3).
- Transition
- Coordinates with the incoming Base Vice President during a three-day transition period before taking office (APFA Policy Manual, Section 5.27).
Willingness-to-Serve Notifications must be electronically submitted by July 2, 2025, at 10:00 am (CT). You MUST be a member in good standing at the time of the closing of the Willingness-to-Serve*. A member is considered in good standing so long as they have met their dues obligation, with no dues in arrears for more than sixty (60) days. (APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A-C – Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D).

Virtual Candidate Forum
The following day, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 2:00pm (ET), the National Ballot Committee will hold a virtual forum for potential candidates. Candidates are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the election process and to ask questions.

The National Ballot Committee is happy to announce that we are offering this special election using an online electronic voting method through our vendor, YesElections. We will utilize the Single Sign-On (SSO) voting method via APFA.org. This is the same easy and secure method that was used during the Strike Vote and the 2024 Tentative Agreement Vote.
Voting Eligibility
You must be a member in good standing to not only be eligible for the MIA Base Vice President position by the WTS deadline, but also to vote in this election. You may check your membership status, account balance and make any necessary payments by logging into APFA.org and clicking on ‘My Account’.
