Inflight Management Structure Changes

Many of you have noticed recent changes to the inflight management structure in DCA. If you’re experiencing any operational issues, please reach out to your senior crew manager.

Performance related concerns will be addressed by the performance manager, [email protected] and Attendance matters will be handled by the attendance manager [email protected].

There should always be someone available in the inflight office to assist with your needs,  we’ve requested that the office be staffed in alignment with our flying schedules to ensure support is available when you need it and we’re confident that our local inflight management is committed to providing the support and guidance you need when you stop by or call the office.

Grievance Update: BWI Parking

As stated in previous communications a Base Notice of Dispute (NOD) has been filed against the company regarding the BWI parking situation citing a violation of CBA Section 4 Expenses – D. Parking.

Per the grievance procedure there is a 30-day window for the issue to be addressed at the local level, if the matter is not resolved during that time, it will be escalated to the SBA department at APFA, which will take it forward through the next steps of the process.

We strongly object to any policy that limits parking hang tags and permits only to those who meet specific criteria to obtain parking, this is a direct violation of our contract, we will continue to keep you updated as this grievance progresses through the appropriate channels.

Grievance Update: Reserve Sit Rig Pay

A base grievance will be filed in response to recent information brought to my attention regarding Reserve Flight Attendants not being properly compensated for sit rig time exceeding 2.5 hours mid sequence (CBA 11.D.6.). This rig should be paid above the 75 hour monthly guarantee, and not absorbed into the guarantee. This is a direct violation of the CBA and the understanding at the negotiation table. If you have experienced this issue, please reach out as examples are essential in moving this grievance forward you can e-mail me directly at [email protected].

Whether you’re flying or making the most of your well-deserved days off – THANK YOU for all that you do every day. Wishing you a safe, joyful, and happy summer!
