8.28.25 – APFA MIA Base Brief – APFA MIA Base Brief – Update on AA Management’s Restructure in the Miami Base

Update on AA Management’s
Restructure in the Miami Base
Thursday, August 28, 2025
Hello MIA Flight Attendants,
We are now almost three months into AA Management’s restructure of Inflight and the establishment of the Performance Management Team. While this change was intended to simplify the process of getting the assistance you need, it has only led to increased confusion.
It is Management’s responsibility to provide you with the necessary support, tools, and knowledge to do your job effectively. APFA is here to support you and hold management accountable.
If you have questions about the scheduling systems (PBS, TTS, and ETB), pay discrepancies, or operational issues, please direct those inquiries to your Senior Crew Manager.
For questions or concerns regarding your attendance record, please reach out to your Crew Attendance Manager. (CAM). This is a friendly reminder to regularly check your MyView and report any discrepancies immediately to your CAM. Issues that should be directed to your CAM include Sick (SK),  Late Sick Notification (LC), Missed Trip (TM), Personal Day (PO), any type of leave, and questions regarding Late Report (LR).
The new role of Crew Performance Manager is to gather information, conduct investigations, and issue disciplinary actions. If you notice any performance events in your MyView during your regular checks, please contact your Crew Performance Manager (CPM) to request more information.
These Managers should be your first point of contact when situations arise:
We have seen a dramatic increase in AA Management requiring Flight Attendants to attend meetings on their days off. If any Manager reaches out to you regarding an attendance or performance-related matter, or if you receive an email asking for information about any issue, this is a way for them to conduct “informal” investigations. These informal investigations could be used to bypass your right to have APFA representation.
To protect your rights as a union member, you can respond to the email or phone call with the following statement:
“I am more than willing to respond to your inquiry; however, I request that this take place in a formal meeting scheduled on a paid duty day, which will also allow me to have proper representation from APFA.”
Your Miami APFA representatives are here to support you and hold the company accountable for their shortcomings. If the Company and Management fail to correct their errors or do not help resolve your operational issues, please reach out to us.
If you have been rescheduled and believe the company has made an inappropriate rescheduling, you can fill out the APFA Rescheduling Issues Formfor an investigation.
If you have a hotel delay discrepancy that the company has not addressed, you can submit this using the APFA Hotel Delay Compensation Form.
For any other issues that require APFA to file a Notice of Dispute (NOD), please complete the APFA NOD Filing Request Form. This will automatically be submitted to your MIA representative, who can investigate your claim, provide feedback, and file the Notice of Dispute as necessary.
As the company continues to increase pressure on Flight Attendants, we must stand together and hold them accountable for their mistakes.
In Solidarity,
Nick & Alba
